MISSION STATEMENT

The Border Organization (TBO) is dedicated to empowering border communities by identifying, nurturing, and equipping local leaders through grassroots initiatives, with the aim of addressing the distinctive challenges they encounter.

Our commitment to non-partisan political power recognizes that true influence is derived from both organized resources and organized voices. TBO fosters a space where fellow citizens and neighbors can come together, engaging in meaningful dialogue about the daily issues impacting their lives. Through this collaboration, we help forge coalitions with the collective strength needed to tackle these challenges head-on.

Guided by the principle of the "Iron Rule," TBO distinguishes itself as an organization that doesn't merely advocate for change but actively instructs community members in the art of working alongside their neighbors to collectively confront the issues plaguing their communities. We believe that true empowerment comes when individuals are equipped to help themselves and their communities flourish.

TBO's commitment to being a genuinely border-focused initiative is evident in our ongoing efforts in Del Río/Val Verde County, Brackettville/Kinney County, and Uvalde/Uvalde County. We are dedicated to expanding our reach to additional border communities such as Eagle Pass, Crystal City, and Laredo, Texas. Historically overlooked, border communities deserve a restoration of their power, and TBO is resolute in ensuring that they are no longer marginalized.

Our mission extends beyond short-term solutions; we invest in the future by training and mentoring local leaders who recognize that sustained institutional power is the key to realizing the aspirations, interests, and values of our communities. Together, we strive to build a stronger, more equitable border region where every voice is heard, and every community can thrive.
